New Publication on Sustainable Energy Consumption Behaviour with Smart Meters in ISJ
The Chair of Smart Services of Prof. Dr. Martin Adam is pleased to announce the publication of the research article in the Information Systems Journal (VHB: A): “Sustainable Energy Consumption Behavior with Smart Meters: The Role of Relative Performance and Evaluative Standards”
At a time when climate change presents unprecedented challenges, understanding energy consumption behavior is more important than ever. This study explores how smart meters combined with user interfaces can significantly impact household energy habits, not only by tracking consumption, but also by promoting a sustainable mindset through effective goal setting and social comparison.
The Chair is particularly proud of this work as it is relevant and has potential implications of smart services for climate change initiatives and our collective energy footprint. As we strive to create more sustainable communities, findings like this are invaluable to researchers, entrepreneurs and anyone interested in using smart services to protect the environment.
