ProfileChiamaka Rita Akpuogwu is a doctoral researcher exploring how African Christian communities function as socio-legal actors, mediating migrants’ experiences of law, belonging, and mobility within the broader context of mobility rights. Her work bridges religion, migration governance, socio-legal studies, and human rights, with a focus on African migrants.
Her academic journey spans law, migration studies, and intercultural relations. Before her doctoral studies, Chiamaka earned an LL.B. from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a BL from the Nigerian Law School. She later completed an M.A. in Migration and Intercultural Relations at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany, and the University of Stavanger, Norway.
She has presented her research and facilitated seminars and panels at international conferences and universities, engaging with topics ranging from collective qualitative analysis to migration and reintegration issues.
