ownCloud wird zum Jahresende abgeschaltet
The ownCloud systems will be taken offline at the end of the year. owncloud.gwdg.de and sync.academiccloud.de will no longer be available from that point onwards. After that, only the new Nextcloud-based Sync and Share service will be available.The GWDG will be sending emails to all users in the coming weeks to ensure that everyone is informed and that the necessary transition takes place in good time.
Please note that the migration of existing ownCloud accounts must be completed before the shutdown so that users can continue to access their data after the transition. In a few exceptional cases, it will still be possible to export data from ownCloud after the end of the year. However, this option is expressly intended for individual cases only.
Due to the large volumes of data, a fully automated migration of the system is not possible. Users must therefore carry out the migration of their individual accounts themselves.
Before the migration, ownCloud accounts should also be tidied up and any files no longer required should be deleted. This will reduce both the effort involved in the migration and the likelihood of errors.
