GAUSS Managing Board
The GAUSS Managing Board is responsible for the management of all duties and responsibilities of GAUSS. It defines and further develops the strategic orientation, scientific concept, and training program of the graduate school. Furthermore, it is evaluating and deciding on applications for admitting new supervisors and implementing new doctoral programs.
The spokesperson of GAUSS, elected by the board members, represents the interests of GAUSS within the regulatory framework. He/she is the chair of the GAUSS Managing Board and responsible for the operational business of the graduate school.
The GAUSS Managing Board is composed of
- one member of each of the mathematics and natural science faculties,
- one member of the University Medical Center Göttingen,
- one member of the Göttingen Graduate Center for Neurosciences, Biophysics and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB),
- one member of the non-university campus partners,
- one doctoral student representative.
The doctoral student representative is elected from his/her peer group for one year. The other members are appointed for two years by their respective institution.
The GAUSS Managing Board reports to the Presidential Board of the University and to the mathematics and natural science faculties.
