GoslarFFRLab: Goslar Forest Fire and Regeneration Experiment - a Lab for Mining Legacy Landscapes
The collaborative project “Goslar Forest Fire Regeneration Experiment (GoslarFFRLab)” aims to scientifically assess the efficiency and environmental compatibility of firefighting-agent deployment in the event of forest fires. To this end, the project will quantify and qualitatively evaluate pollutant releases; changes in soil conditions and microclimate; vegetation regeneration; and risks and implications for post-fire management, tourism, and water protection. The findings will support scientific communication and the optimisation of post-fire management, particularly with regard to reforestation. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) as part of the Forest Fire Fighting Laboratory (FFFLab).
