This workshop is aimed at students who have collected and evaluated empirical data and now want to write it up, e.g., as part of a thesis. You will learn about the requirements that must be met when writing up quantitatively and qualitatively collected data in academic texts. In addition to presenting the data in an appropriate scientific language, this also includes linking your own results with findings from previous research. You will learn about the characteristic features of scientific language in results and discussion chapters and apply them to the writing up of your own empirical data. Please note: The focus of this course is on the presentation of empirical research. Methodological advice on the collection and/or evaluation of empirical data cannot be provided within the scope of this workshop.

In this workshop, international students learn how to use artificial intelligence (AI) in a targeted and reflective way when writing job applications in German. They are taught how to adapt AI-generated results to their own writing style and personal profile, rather than adjusting themselves to the AI. The focus is on the ability to critically analyze, further develop, and revise AI-generated texts so that they appear linguistically authentic and personal. Participants will explore step by step how to use AI tools to create cover letters and CVs, deepen their knowledge of structure and language conventions in these text types, and learn strategies for analyzing job advertisements and presenting their own strengths convincingly. The goal is to create professional German-language applications using AI that clearly, coherently, and convincingly reflect their own style and individual strengths. The workshop is suitable for students with German language skills at B1 level or higher. It is offered in both German and English. Please note: This course focuses exclusively on writing job applications in German.
