Chair of International Economics
PROF. DR. UDO KREICKEMEIER
Udo Kreickemeier is Professor of International Economics at the University of Göttingen. Before coming to Göttingen, he was Professor of International Economics at the University of Dresden. Before that, he was a professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tübingen.
His research focuses on the influence of foreign trade and offshoring on the labour market and the distributional effects of globalisation. In particular, he works on the so-called ‘new’ distributional effects. These result from the heterogeneity of the population of different actors (typically firms and workers), which allows for a more differentiated view of the winners and losers of globalisation, an area of research that has been neglected in the academic literature so far.
He is co-editor of the European Economic Review and Review of World Economics, Research Fellow at the CESifo Network and External Fellow at the Leverhulme Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP).
